Casappa mVPD Pump FAQ
- Displacements range from 22.5 cm³/rev to 65 cm³/rev. The pressure ratings are a maximum continuous pressure of 230 bar, maximum intermittent pressure of 260 bar, and maximum peak pressure of 290 bar.
MVPD pumps are compatible with mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids conforming to DIN 51524, fire-resistant fluids, and biodegradable fluids as specified in the technical data.
The optimal fluid viscosity range is between 15 and 35 cSt. Functional limits are up to 1500 cSt at start-up and a minimum of 10 cSt at maximum temperature.
The hydraulic fluid must maintain contamination levels within NAS 1638 class 9 to 7 or ISO 4406:1999 class 20/18/15 to 18/16/13, achieved with filters ßx(c) ≥75 according to ISO 16889.
Ensure maximum coupling eccentricity within 0.25 mm, use a flexible coupling, fill the pump case with fluid before installation, and ensure inlet and drain lines are correctly dimensioned and clean.
.
MVPD pumps offer hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls with options like pressure compensators (RP0, RP1), dual setting pressure compensators (RP2), electronic pressure compensators (PEC, PECA), and flow compensators (LS).
Warm up the oil before running the machine. Start the pump in stand-by condition at minimum speed until the pump case reaches -20°C, then gradually increase displacement and speed, checking for cavitation.
