Rexroth 3WH FAQ

The Rexroth 3WH valve is a fluidically operated directional spool valve designed to control the start, stop, and direction of a hydraulic flow. It is available with pneumatic (WP) or hydraulic (WH) actuation types.

The maximum operating pressure for ports A, B, and P is 315 bar (4600 psi), and for port T, it is 160 bar (2320 psi). However, if the operating pressure exceeds the permissible tank pressure, port T must be used as a leakage port.

The Rexroth 3WH valve is compatible with mineral oil (HL, HLP) as per DIN 51524, fast biodegradable hydraulic fluids as per VDMA 24568 (e.g., HETG, HEPG, HEES), and other hydraulic fluids upon inquiry. The appropriate seals (NBR or FKM) must be chosen based on the fluid used.

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of the valve, it is recommended to use full-flow filtration with a filter rating of 25 µm. The maximum permissible degree of contamination of the hydraulic fluid should be ISO 4406 cleanliness class 20/18/15.

The valve can be installed in any orientation. However, for versions with spool symbols A, C, and D (../O..), horizontal installation is recommended.

The operating temperature range for the Rexroth 3WH valve is from -30°C to +80°C (-22°F to +176°F) when using NBR seals and from -20°C to +80°C (-4°F to +176°F) when using FKM seals.

The Rexroth 3WH valve has a maximum flow rate of 60 l/min (15.8 gpm). The pressure limits are dependent on the flow and must be carefully monitored to avoid exceeding the valve's performance limits, especially when the flow is only in one direction.
